Adam Sandler Hip Surgery
Adam Sandler is a comedian who has made the world laugh for more than 30 years. The former Saturday Night Live star has starred in dozens of films and received accolades for his comedic talent. He has also been a vocal supporter of various charities, including the Stand Up for Pits Foundation and Toys for Tots.
Earlier this year, Sandler opened up about an injury that limited his mobility. He said he had an accident while filming the sports drama Hustle, in which he plays a Philadelphia 76ers scout who dreams of becoming an NBA coach. He admitted that the groin injury caused him a lot of mobility problems, and that it has taken a toll on his career.
Since then, Sandler has continued to be in and around the spotlight, working with a variety of comedians, actors and filmmakers on multiple projects. He is also a producer and founder of Happy Madison Productions, which has produced numerous successful films.
He was recently honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which recognizes the best in comedy. He shared his thoughts about the honor with ET’s Rachel Smith on the carpet outside the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
As the acclaimed actor walked the carpet at the ceremony, he shared that he had a special place in his heart for the 1989 comedy Going Overboard, which predated his time on Saturday Night Live and was his very first big screen role. He said he felt like an old man as he walked the carpet, and that he still holds fond memories of the movie.
His wife, Jackie Sandler, who is also an actress, was present at the event with her husband. The pair looked very happy together as they walked the carpet, and they appeared to be having a good time at the event.
The two looked very bonded on the carpet, as they seemed to be laughing a lot and hugging one another. The couple has been married since 2003, and they have two daughters together: Sadie, 16, and Sunny, 13.
TMZ reports that the 56-year-old actor had a hip surgery around Labor Day last month. He had the procedure in order to accommodate his upcoming filming commitments, according to the outlet.
Now, Adam is looking to get his body back into shape. He and his wife have been out shopping in L.A.’s Pacific Palisades area recently, and he was spotted using a cane for support while out and about.
Although the Happy Gilmore actor didn’t look particularly well on the outing, he was still able to enjoy a good time with his wife and daughters. He donned a white Hawaiian shirt and black Adidas basketball shorts, along with white crew-neck socks and sneakers. His 48-year-old wife, Jackie, wore a black down jacket over a gray sweater and a pair of black leggings.
As he gets his body back into shape, he’ll be sure to keep fans updated on how his recovery is progressing. Stay tuned to PEOPLE for more updates!
