Amanda Holden Plastic Surgery

Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has sent male fans’ pulses racing with her ageless beauty. But her ageless glow has left some wondering if she’s undergone cosmetic surgery.

She’s reportedly had Botox injections, though she has since announced that she’s given up the treatment after the birth of her daughter Hollie in 2012.

Amanda Holden has spoken out about her battle with keloid scarring.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge has told You Magazine that she wouldn’t undergo cosmetic surgery because of the skin condition, which is also known as keloid scarring.

“I have keloid skin, which makes [surgery] not such a great proposition,” she said.

But what exactly is keloid skin? We asked skincare expert Nurse Lucy Phillips to explain.

“Keloids are an abnormal wound healing type caused by an overgrowth of scar tissue,” explains Nurse Phillips, founder of Southampton clinic Kaizen Medical. “Keloids are typically pink or red but can darken over time.”

“Sometimes the scar can be much bigger than the actual wound itself and has a smooth surface but lumpy and ridged edge,” she adds. “They can develop anywhere on the body, but they are more common after piercings, tattoos, puncture wounds and injection sites.”

Nurse Phillips says that keloid scars sometimes don’t appear until months after the injury and can take years to fade—they’re more common in darker

Botox

Botox (botulinum toxin A) is a cosmetic treatment that relaxes muscles and reduces wrinkles. It is a relatively painless procedure, often taking less than 10 minutes to perform.

Though most popular for its ability to soften forehead creases, crow’s feet, and frown lines between the eyebrows, Botox is also used in many other ways. It can be used to treat conditions such as strabismus, a condition that causes one or both eyes to misalign, and cervical dystonia, a condition that causes the neck to twist.

Using Botox to prevent future wrinkles from forming is becoming increasingly popular among younger patients. It is often done in conjunction with a surgical treatment such as an eyelid lift, as a way to inhibit future signs of aging from forming.

The BGT judge, who has never had invasive cosmetic surgery, says that she is open to non-invasive beauty procedures. In fact, she has a fortnightly collagen wave facials, which is a skin-tightening treatment that stimulates healthy skin cells and improves texture.

Breasts Implants

Breasts Implants are a procedure that can help to improve your body image and boost your self-esteem. They can also restore previous breast size after pregnancy, weight loss or aging.

The procedure involves making an incision to separate your breast tissue from the muscles and connective tissue of your chest. The surgeon then inserts the breast implants into this pocket and centers them behind your nipple.

A common side effect of breast augmentation is loss of sensitivity to your nipple for a period of time after surgery. This usually goes away after the nerves heal, but it can be frustrating and uncomfortable for some patients.

Another side effect is leakage of the sterile saltwater (saline) solution from saline-filled implants, often due to a valve leak or a tear or cut in the implant shell. This can cause pain and swelling. In severe cases, hematomas may develop and require surgical draining. It’s a good idea to report any problems you experience with your breasts to your clinic as soon as possible so you can be taken care of quickly.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a popular cosmetic surgery procedure that removes fat from areas of the body that cannot be altered with diet and exercise. Many people get liposuction to slim down their thighs, hips, buttocks, abdomen, arms, neck and back.

The procedure also improves a person’s overall appearance and self-confidence, and helps to boost their motivation to lead a healthier lifestyle. As well as improving their appearance, the results of liposuction can also help to reduce the number of fat cells in the bloodstream, which can lower a person’s risk of heart disease.

The procedure is performed under local or general anaesthesia, depending on the size of the area being treated. During the procedure, a tube-like instrument called a cannula is inserted through a small incision and used to break up the fat and suction it out. A sterile fluid is then given through the cannula. The procedure can take 1 – 3 hours. After the surgery, a compression garment must be worn over the treatment site for about a week to control swelling and aid in recovery.

Eyelid Surgery

If you have droopy eyelids, excess skin, or fat around the eyes that interfere with your vision, you may want to consider eyelid surgery. Also called blepharoplasty, this cosmetic procedure can correct these and other facial flaws.

Many people choose to have blepharoplasty because it can help them look younger and more refreshed. This is especially true for patients who have droopy upper eyelids or puffy bags below their eyes.

It can also reduce the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet. The best candidates for blepharoplasty are healthy adults who have loose, sagging or baggy eyelids that don’t respond to anti-aging treatments such as Botox.

Before deciding on surgery, discuss your goals with your surgeon. He or she will evaluate your eyelids, eyebrows, and facial structure to determine whether this type of surgery will achieve the results you desire.
