Ann Battrell Obituary, Death – The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) is deeply saddened to share the news that our beloved CEO, Ann Battrell, MSDH, has passed. The ADHA family extends our sincerest condolences to her loved ones during this difficult time.
Ann was a tireless leader and visionary who spent her lifetime dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of people around the world. She was committed to helping patients find the best ways to care for their teeth and gums, and she was passionate about promoting the importance of the dental hygiene profession. In her role as the CEO of ADHA, Ann made significant contributions that have forever changed our profession and improved the lives of millions of individuals.
Her dedication and leadership will be missed. The legacy she leaves behind will continue to inspire us and guide our path forward. The ADHA community is grateful for all of the work that Ann did to further the profession and make the health of people around the world better. Ann’s passion for empowering others to achieve their personal best was rooted in her family. Her parents, Dwight John Bottrell and Ruby Pearl Kuhns, instilled in her the value of hard work and determination. Her mother, who taught her the importance of education, was a lifelong educator and a true believer in the power of women’s equality. Her father, a business owner, taught her the value of entrepreneurship and to always be ready to take on new challenges.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and a good glass of wine. She also enjoyed reading, especially poetry and books on history. In addition to these hobbies, she was an avid sports fan and a huge supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. She is survived by her husband, David and their sons, Michael and Robert.
Ann was a loving and generous wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and coworker. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was a woman of many talents and a strong sense of adventure. She was a true inspiration to everyone who met her. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Rest in peace, Ann.
