Annie Wersching Cause of Death
Actress Annie Wersching, best known for her roles on shows like 24 and Bosch, has died after a three-year battle with cancer. She was 45 years old. Her husband Stephen Full and their three sons Freddie, Ozzie, and Archie survive her. The actress had been diagnosed with cancer in 2020 but remained private about it, shooting her shows as normal. She even had a recurring role on Star Trek Picard and the new LA cop drama The Rookie.
Born and raised in Missouri, she began her acting career at a young age, appearing on dozens of shows over the course of her two-decade career. Her major roles included Amelia Joffe on General Hospital and FBI agent Renee Walker in 24. She also appeared on a host of other TV shows, including Star Trek: Enterprise, Charmed, Supernatural, Cold Case, and Killer Instinct. She also performed in theatres such as Utah Shakespearean Festival, Marriot Lincolnshire, and Victory Gardens.
Her recurring roles on Bosch and 24 brought her more notice. On Bosch, she played Julia Brasher, a rookie cop in the Hollywood division who crossed paths with Harry Bosch. She was in the first two seasons of the series. On Marvel’s Runaways, she portrayed Leslie Dean, mother of the half-alien superhero Karolina. She was in more than 30 episodes of the Hulu series across three seasons.
In addition to starring on television, Wersching also did voice work for the video game Assassin’s Creed and in the PlayStation classic The Last of Us. She was also a writer and director.
According to her GoFundMe page, the actress had been battling an unspecified type of cancer since the summer of 2020. The page says that she was a “private person by nature and she didn’t want to talk about her health.” She continued to shoot shows, working right up until the end.
The page has reached over $131,000 at the time of this writing, and many of her co-stars have paid tribute to their friend. Neil Druckmann, who directed Wersching in the 2022 film Almost Famous, tweeted that she was an “inspiring and loving person.”
A GoFundMe campaign has been started to support her family. The goal is to raise $43,000 to help them get through this difficult time. The actress’s sons Freddie, Ozzie, and Ari are currently being cared for by her husband Stephen Full. The two have been together for 11 years. Their children are ages 4, 9, and 9. A publicist confirmed the news of her death. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and will be missed by so many people. She will be remembered for her talent, beauty, and warmth. Rest in peace, Annie. The world has lost a true gem.
