Deborah Debbie Barnes Obituary : A Beloved Resident of Sarnia

Deborah Debbie Barnes, a beloved resident of Sarnia, passed away on the morning of January 1st, 2023, at the age of 54. She was surrounded by her loved ones at Bluewater Health hospital. Debbie will be fondly remembered by her brother Rick Barnes from Bayfield, her sister Barbara (Paul) van der Voort from Red Deer, Alberta, and her nieces and nephews: Rob Barnes, Brett van der Voort, Cori (David) Bennett, and Nichole Barnes. She will also be deeply missed by her dearest friend and companion, Isobel Niddrie. Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Canon Walter Barnes (2009) and Marylen Barnes (2017), as well as her brothers Peter Barnes and Winston (Wayne) Barnes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Family Counselling Center Sarnia at www.familycounsellingctr.com or the Canadian Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.ca. Cremation has already taken place, and a celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 21, from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br.62. The arrangements have been entrusted to the D. J. Robb Funeral Home & Cremation Centre located at 102 N. Victoria St, Sarnia. Debbie we miss you so much, we were so privileged that you asked us to be your God parents at your baptism. This was so sudden fir us all. Stu and I have wonderful memories, like the time we enjoyed a birthday Bar-B-Q with you at our place and the many times we met with m you and Isobel at the Native Friendship Club to make interesting things such as the Native drums. And learned some Native words. I know you are resting with Jesus right now and we shall meet again someday 🙏 love you.❤🌹🌻🍁
