Erin Napier’s Husband Ben Napier Underwent Surgery on March 31
Erin Napier’s husband Ben has just undergone life-changing shoulder surgery.
Erin and Ben Napier are HGTV stars, known for their home renovation show Home Town, which airs on the network. Their show, which focuses on renovating historic properties in their small hometown of Laurel, Mississippi, has become a fan favorite.
They’re known for preserving the past and elevating their humble town’s real estate value. They’re a force of nature when it comes to designing their homes, making it easy to see why fans fall in love with them as a couple.
It’s been a long time coming, but HGTV star Ben Napier is finally healing after suffering from shoulder pain for years. He had rotator cuff surgery on March 31 to correct an issue that has plagued him for years, according to his wife Erin.
Despite having the procedure, the woodworker still plans to continue working on renovations for Home Town and other projects. He’s also going to continue to stay active, eating a balanced diet and exercising at least three times a week.
He’ll be unable to work on his own construction for quite some time, but he’s got his wife and daughters to keep him company as he recovers. In fact, the eldest daughter, Helen, even wrote a note to her dad in crayon with hearts to wish him good luck after his surgery!
In the caption of the post, Erin revealed that Ben’s rotator cuff was repaired, his bone spur was shaved off and the cartilage in his shoulder was trimmed. Fans and friends flooded her post to offer their well wishes, and some offered advice on how to deal with the pain that comes after a major operation like this one.
The recovery process can be a lengthy one, so HGTV isn’t sure how long Ben will be off work for. But he’s in good hands with his family, including his brother-in-law, Clark Rasberry, who is a physical therapist. He’s also receiving physical therapy from Erin.
It’s no secret that Erin has a few health issues, so it’s not surprising she would want to make sure Ben is in the best possible condition to be able to get back to his work. Her own traumatic experience with appendix pain led her to seek out medical help in 2014, and she was diagnosed with an illness that triggered episodes of stomach pain for 10 years, according to Make Something Good Today: A Memoir from HGTV’s Home Town co-stars, Erin and Ben Napier.
After her diagnosis, Erin had a series of exploratory surgeries that led to the discovery of the disease that was causing her so much pain. Eventually, doctors would remove the appendix and cut away scar tissue from around it.
When she shared the news about her upcoming surgery on Instagram, Erin encouraged her followers to share their stories of how they dealt with similar health issues and what they did to get better. Her post garnered hundreds of messages from people with similar health problems, and they helped Erin feel less alone as she navigated her journey to health.
