What Happened to Faith Gumma Kinaya?
According to the Sterling Heights Police Department, they tried to stop a Chevy Equinox vehicle around 9.30 p.m. However, the Equinox fled from the police, heading north on Van Dyke Avenue and 15 Mile Road. The police said that at 16 Mile Road, the Equinox ran a red light and hit a GMC Terrain vehicle. There were three people in the Terrain vehicle, a 31-year-old mother, a 31-year-old father and a 2-year-old boy, all from Sterling Heights.
All three were injured and taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the mother who was later identified as Faith Kinaya died at the hospital. The father and the child are in critical condition. The suspect, a 16-year-old boy from Detroit who was not injured in the accident, was taken into custody.
