What Happened to Jordan Barr?
Authorities are shedding light on the details surrounding the tragic crash that occurred in Richmond Township, Berks County, on Friday night.
According to Fleetwood police, the incident claimed the lives of two individuals: the 23-year-old driver and a 20-year-old passenger. Tragically, a pet dog also lost its life in the crash, which unfolded around 8 p.m. on Moselem Springs Road (Route 662).
The Berks County Coroner, George Holmes, identified the driver as Jordan T. Barr from Maxatawny Township, and the passenger as Javan L. Forster from Schuylkill Haven.
Preliminary investigations by Fleetwood police indicate that Barr was traveling north on Route 662 towards the intersection with Forge Hill Road when he unexpectedly lost control of the vehicle. The exact cause of this loss of control remains unknown.
The vehicle involved, believed to be a pickup truck, veered off the road and collided with both a utility pole and the residence situated at 1689 Moselem Springs Road. Tragically, Barr, Forster, and the dog succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased at the accident scene.
Fortunately, the residents of the impacted house did not sustain any injuries due to the vehicle’s collision. However, the house suffered “moderate to major” damage as a result. Authorities have advised the residents to temporarily evacuate the premises while structural assessments are conducted to ensure the safety and integrity of the dwelling.
