Kisha Flanigan Obituary and Cause of Death
A community is mourning the loss of a beloved wife, mother, and educator. Kisha Fields Flanigan’s uplifting spirit and invaluable contributions to her family, community, and fellow students have left a lasting impact on everyone she touched throughout her lifetime. Her ferocity to succeed and lighthearted personality was an inspiration to many.
Friends and family members have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the life of Fields Flanigan, who was shot and killed in a parking garage at a midtown Atlanta high-rise earlier this month. Despite being killed, her family has found strength in the outpouring of support from their loved ones and strangers alike.
“My heart breaks for my daughter,” says her mother, Cathy Brown, who has been inundated with messages of love and condolences. “I have heard from a lot of people who she helped. They are letting me know how much she meant to them.”
The victim’s sister, Valencia Ann Proctor, has also been flooded with messages of love and condolences. She shared her daughter’s obituary on her Facebook page. “My sister was a loving and caring person. She always made sure to be there for her family and friends,” she wrote.
She also said that her sister was a hardworking woman and that she will be missed. “She had a bright smile and a powerful will to live,” she said. “She will be remembered by all that knew her.”
Kisha was predeceased by her husband, Keith Flanigan; parents, Robert and Helen Flood; sisters, Sandra Simons and Sherrie Dill; brother, Ronald Flood; and niece, Tiara Raynor. She is survived by her daughters, Avonnii Raynor-Bean, Amaya and Tamara White; grandchildren, Landro Minors, Leron Minors, and Sakinah Brangman; sister, Vernette Fields; aunts, Frances White, Olive Roberts, Yvonne White, Faye Wilkinson, Naomi Harris, Dolores Wright, Pearl Tranzor, and Anita Saltus; brothers-in-law, John Smith, Carlton Tyrell, and Herb Marshall; and numerous other relatives and friends. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Waynesville, North Carolina. A memorial service is also planned for Wednesday in Goodman, Mississippi. Kisha’s family has been invited to attend.
