Fans have reacted with outrage after Kylie Jenner asked her followers to donate to a GoFundMe page for her makeup artist Samuel Rauda, after he suffered injuries in a car crash last weekend.

The 21-year-old beauty mogul shared a link to her 222 million followers to help raise funds for the aspiring hairdresser, who is struggling with his medical bills after an accident left him with $60,000 in debt.

She also encouraged her followers to donate directly to the page, which currently has raised nearly $100,000.

However, some social media users questioned why she was asking for such a small amount of money, especially given that she is a billionaire and has made an estimated $900 million in profits since selling her cosmetics company last year.

They pointed out that she only donated $5,000, which is a pittance compared to her other earnings, which make her the highest paid influencer on Instagram. The cosmetics tycoon has been reported to rake in as much as US$1.2m per post on her account.

While some people criticized her for making such a request, others were more appreciative of the gesture and praised her generosity. Many pointed out that she should have donated more to cover her makeup artist’s medical expenses, as she has worked with Samuel in the past and is a close friend of his family.

Some of her friends and fellow influencers were also quick to come out in support of the Kylie Cosmetics tycoon, including Bella Thorne, Sofia Richie, and Bebe Rexha. They all matched Jenner’s $5k donation and gave smaller amounts as well.

A source told Page Six that the makeup mogul encouraged her 222 million followers to contribute to the fundraiser when she first learned of it. When she saw the amount of money already being raised, she believed it had covered the full cost, but when she dropped in her own contribution of $5,000, it brought the total up to over its goal, which was originally only $10,000.

Moreover, she felt the need to clarify in her own Instagram story that Samuel was not her makeup artist and that she would not have known about his medical expenses if it wasn’t for a friend.

She went on to explain that she had no idea about the cause until she was contacted by a friend who was familiar with it and who had previously worked with Rauda in the past.

The haters quickly took to Twitter, ripping into her for asking her followers to donate to her makeup artist’s GoFundMe page despite being a billionaire. They claimed that she was “doing a disservice to her family” and that her $5k donation should have been enough for the entire procedure.
