Bringing joy into people’s lives seemed to come naturally to Lucas. His infectious laughter and quick wit effortlessly lit up any room he entered. Simply being in Lucas’s presence was enough to bring smiles and laughter to those around him.
Lucas was blessed with a loving and close-knit family. He is survived by his mother, Ginger Harman Blanton, his father, David Michael Blanton, and his two brothers, Harman Blanton and Alex Blanton. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared countless cherished memories together.
Moreover, Lucas eagerly anticipated becoming an uncle, as his brother Whit Blanton and his wife were expecting a child in August 2023. He treasured his role as an older brother and was known for his unwavering support and guidance.
Lucas’s desire to make a positive impact extended beyond his personal relationships. He dedicated his professional life to Senior Select Insurance Group, working as an Independent Insurance Contractor. Through his work, Lucas assisted numerous individuals and families in securing their financial well-being. His caring nature and commitment to helping others shone through in every interaction.
Lucas Blanton Obituary and Funeral Service
A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at First Baptist Church on the Square. This special gathering honored the memory of Lucas Blanton and commemorated the lasting impact he had on the lives of those around him. Dr. Paul Baxter and Rev. Paul Blair led the service, providing comfort and support to family, friends, and the community as they remembered Lucas’s remarkable life.
Following the service, Lucas was laid to rest in Restlawn Memory Gardens, where he will find eternal peace.
The untimely departure of Lucas Michael Blanton has left a void in the hearts of all who knew him. His radiant smile, infectious laughter, and genuine care for others will forever be cherished. Through his compassion and joyful presence, Lucas brought happiness and warmth to every life he touched. Though his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Lucas is survived by his mother, Ginger Harman Blanton; father, David Michael Blanton; brothers, Harman Blanton (Julia) and Alex Blanton (Blake); nieces and nephew, Chambliss Blanton, Charlotte Blanton, Shepherd Blanton, and Whit Blanton (due in August 2023); a very special friend, Kaitlyn Garrett; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his German Shepherd dog, Kaiser.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at First Baptist Church on the Square, officiated by Dr. Paul Baxter and Rev. Paul Blair. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends gathered from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church on the Square.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested contributions be made to Younglife LaGrange (https://lagrange.younglife.org) or Skyland Trail (www.skylandtrail.org) in memory of Lucas Michael Blanton.

Lucas was one of my best friends during my time in Athens, and I have countless memories with him that I will always keep close. I was so sad to hear the news, but I do think that Lucas is in a better place with our Lord. Lucas was a great friend and never met a stranger, and I am blessed that I was able to spend a few years of my life with him. I hope that you all find comfort and peace during this time, and have you all in my prayers.
