Melvin Molina Car Accident: Corpus Christi FC Player Dies in Tragic Car Crash
Corpus Christi, Texas – Melvin Molina, a well-known player for Corpus Christi FC, tragically lost his life in a car accident on June 25, 2023. The accident occurred while Molina was returning to Corpus Christi, and the details surrounding the incident have not been disclosed.
Melvin Molina, recognized as a talented athlete, was selected to the Second Team All-Region and named the ASC’s Midfielder of the Year in 2022. His contributions to the USL League Two team were invaluable, making him not only a great athlete but also a remarkable teammate and friend.
Concordia University Texas, where Molina was a member of the soccer program, expressed their condolences: “We are saddened to learn of the passing of Melvin Molina. Along with the entire Concordia University Texas community, we express our deepest condolences and heartfelt love and support to Melvin’s family, friends, and community.”
Nick Mims, head coach of the Concordia Texas men’s soccer team, spoke highly of Molina: “The world lost a truly special individual in Melvin. He was well known for his soccer talent, but Melvin was an even better person. His teammates remember him as a genuine human being who lived life with so much joy. His smile brightened every room he entered. Concordia Soccer was truly lucky to have him as a part of our program. We wish Melvin’s family our sincerest condolences and pray for them in this difficult time.”
Melvin Molina, a native of San Marcos, Texas, had an outstanding career in soccer. In 2022, he earned a spot on the Second Team All-Region and was named ASC’s Midfielder of the Year. His exceptional skills on the field resulted in him being selected for the All-ASC First Team twice. Molina’s sophomore season saw him leading the conference in assists, recording an impressive tally of 13.
Molina’s remarkable abilities have left a mark in the school’s history, holding both the single-season and career assist records, currently standing at 23. He also achieved the record for the highest number of multi-assist matches in a season, an outstanding accomplishment in five matches. In addition to his on-field success, Molina excelled academically and was included in the esteemed 2021-22 ASC All-Academic team.
To support Molina’s family with funeral expenses, a GoFundMe page titled “Any Expenses” has been set up by Faith Beck, a resident of Round Rock, Texas. The page has raised $14,061 USD of the $20,000 goal. The funds raised will aid the family during this challenging time.

For those of you who knew Mel he was the goofiest sometime the loudest person, but he also had this sweet, loving side. If you ever got to experience his love you are so lucky to have. June 25th, 2023 mel was traveling back to corpus when he was involved in a car accident which resulted in his passing. We are creating this to help his family with any expenses that may occur.
