Passion Jonesz Before Surgery

After an echocardiogram, Jones was diagnosed with fluid around her heart. A cardiologist suggested she get open-heart surgery. She opted for a beach vacation instead, figuring she could get all the medical attention she needed in one place.

Then she started thinking about what would happen after the operation. She realized her success and career in law were not important if she didn’t take care of herself.

She’s now a National Volunteer for the American Heart Association and helps others learn how to improve their health.

Dr. Jones is a passionate educator, who takes pride in teaching and mentoring young medical students. He has been a faculty member at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, and he has served as an assistant professor of plastic surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He also has a passion for community service, and he travels to Belize with his wife Jacquie to assist in dental mission work.

When he isn’t seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife have a young son.
