Prayers For Priscilla Shirer Surgery
The Christian Bible teacher and author Priscilla Shirer recently had surgery to remove a node from her lung. Prayers from Christians around the world flooded in before and during the procedure. Shirer posted an update on her Instagram account this week thanking everyone for their support and prayers. The daughter of Tony Evans and Lois Evans also thanked her doctor for a successful operation.
Priscilla Shirer’s family has experienced a lot of difficult situations in recent years. She has lost a few loved ones, including her mother and her uncle. The last year especially, has been a tough one for her and her family.
She and her husband Jerry own the Going Beyond Ministries and AWAKEN conferences, which bring thousands of women together from different denominations and cultures several times a year to encourage and equip them. The organization also publishes a number of bible study series and books. Priscilla has authored several New York Times bestsellers, such as Discerning the Voice of God and Fervent: A Woman’s Battle Plan for Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer.
Her latest book, Divine Disruption, will be released on November 9. The book will help people better handle life’s difficult seasons. She teamed up with her father, brothers Jonathan and Anthony and her sister Chrystal Evans Hurst to write the book.
They will discuss how to find strength and encouragement through hard times by understanding that the same God who is with us during joyous occasions is also with us when life breaks our hearts.
The book will be available in bookstores and online from Nov. 9. It will be published by Zondervan and distributed by the Bible Society of Canada.
