Robert was born on December 23rd, 1958, and was the cherished son of the late Harold Alexander Butz Jr. and Nancy Ruth Butz. Throughout his life, Robert exemplified remarkable character, embodying values such as compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication. As a devoted family man, he was a pillar of guidance and support to his children, instilling in them the virtues of integrity, resilience, and compassion.
Professionally, Robert dedicated over 34 years of his life to public service. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Maryland. Robert made an indelible mark in his successful career in the federal government, excelling in both science and information technology. His innovation, dedication, and commitment to excellence were widely recognized, and his colleagues held him in high regard for his integrity, intellect, and collaborative spirit. On January 25th, 2000, Robert was granted a patent for his groundbreaking work on a new chromatographic method and device for preparing blood serum for compatibility testing. He also honorably served his country as a medical laboratory specialist in the United States Army from 1980 to 1984.
