Rob Montalbano’s life was tragically cut short due to a boating accident near Austin, Texas. The incident occurred on Lake Travis near Point Venture, involving a collision between a boat and a jet ski. The accident claimed one life and left five others injured. Authorities confirmed that the accident transpired around 3 p.m. on a Sunday.
The injured parties were swiftly transported to medical facilities for treatment. Unfortunately, despite extensive resuscitative efforts, one individual’s life could not be saved. Among the injured, one person faced potentially severe injuries, while another required CPR. The remaining injured individuals were taken to nearby hospitals for assessment and care, with their injuries not deemed life-threatening.

Our hearts are broken as we share the tragic news of the sudden passing of our beloved friend and family member Robert Montalbano. Anyone that knew Rob would say he was a loyal friend, devoted father. brother, loving husband, and caring son who had a unique way of making people laugh all of the time.
On Sunday, August 13, 2023, while at a work retreat in Austin, Texas, Rob’s life was cut short way too soon. He was enjoying a day with colleagues on Lake Travis, when the pontoon boat that he was aboard was struck abruptly by a personal watercraft.
Rob spent his life as a public servant spending 25 years with the Juvenile Justice Commission before retiring to follow his passion in real estate. Rob successfully joined Keller Williams Realty and quickly became a top seller. Rob used his superior people skills, humor, charisma and drive for success to jump-start his second career. He was seen as a mentor during both his time with the JJC and with Keller Williams.
Although extremely successful in his professional career, Rob’s true passion in life was his family. When not coaching his son Nick’s travel baseball team, The Northern Burlington Bulldogs, Rob loved spending time with his wife Renee, and daughter Nina. They spent winters skiing and summers at the beach.
Rob will also be sorely missed by his many nieces and nephews, as well as the countless number of people’s lives he touched.
These funds will be used to help cover the expenses of bringing Rob back home to his family, and to assist the family in covering the cost associated with his funeral.
