Roger was born on February 18, 1965, in Provo, Utah, to Ronald Dee Thurgood and Jacklyn Kay Cox. After his parents’ divorce, his mother married John Hinckley, and Roger, along with his three brothers, one sister, and numerous cousins, was raised on the Hinckley Farm in west Provo. Those days on the farm held some of Roger’s most cherished memories.

Roger’s educational journey led him to Provo High School, where he actively participated in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the South Utah County Rodeo Club. His passion for rodeo and adventurous spirit paved the way for many memorable experiences.

Roger’s zest for life knew no bounds. He enjoyed outdoor activities, such as horseback riding, waterfowl hunting, and collecting unique rocks. His love for music, reading, comic books, and video games added further layers to his vibrant personality. A true adventurer at heart, he always sought the next big thrill.

Roger Thurgood Obituary and Funeral Service

Roger Thurgood’s untimely departure leaves a void in the hearts of many. A visitation will be held at the LDS Church on 381 East 400 North, Spanish Fork, Utah, on Friday evening, July 28, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Another visitation will be held on Saturday morning, July 29, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Walker Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
