Tammy Slaton has completely transformed her body after a terrifying health scare. Now, she looks completely different compared to the woman who once weighed a shocking 700 pounds.
The TLC star didn’t always have this weight to deal with, but it was affecting her quality of life in many ways. She didn’t get out of the house very much – and it was all a result of her size.
She’s Lost 300 Pounds
Tammy Slaton’s weight loss journey began way back when she weighed a whopping 608 pounds. It was after she and her sister Amy had an upsetting weigh-in that they decided to get healthier.
She vowed to put her health first and was very optimistic about her goal. She also had a big dream to have a baby, something that she couldn’t do at her massive size.
However, when she came in to the doctor’s office, he was disappointed by her progress and told her that she had gained more than 20 pounds.
It’s a sad story, but it’s also one that will teach her a lesson about what she can and can’t do with her own body.
Tammy had a serious health scare a few months ago when she was infected with COVID-19, which causes her to lose her breath quickly. She was then hospitalized and placed on a ventilator. Fortunately, she has since recovered and is working on her weight loss.
She’s Living With Her Nephews
Tammy’s siblings haven’t been the most supportive of their sister. Especially after she got sick and had to be put on life support twice.
As a result, she hasn’t been able to move on her own as she would like. Her home is a duplex that has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Currently, Amy and her husband Michael live on the other side of the house, but they are moving soon with their baby boy Gage to a new place that is easier for Tammy to get around in.
The family lives in a house that is in their hometown. It has 4 bedrooms and a backyard where they can take their son to play.
But, despite all that, it seems that Tammy’s weight loss journey is still far from over. She’s recently been dating a man who doesn’t seem to be on her side. He’s even said that he would leave her if she was under 300 pounds.
She’s Married
Tammy grew up poor with three sisters and a brother. Her mother worked several jobs to support them, and her father wasn’t around when she was young.
Tammy has struggled with her weight for years and has been housebound for a long time. She has been hospitalized multiple times for her health issues, including blood clots.
Thankfully, she has her sister Amy to help her out. She understands the difficulties that Tammy is going through, and was able to take care of her in her absence when she needed it most.
Unfortunately, Amy also has her own weight issues and a baby on the way, so she didn’t have as much to give her sister as Tammy did. That’s why Tammy had to move in with her, which she admitted was hard for her.
Her fans are still very concerned about her weight, and they’re hoping she can get her health back on track soon. Hopefully, she can make it through these difficult times and find some happiness along the way.
She’s Getting Better
It’s been more than a year since Tammy Slaton’s life was put in danger by a serious health scare. She was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support during the season three finale of 1000-lb Sisters.
She has a tracheostomy tube in her neck, which means she is reliant on oxygen for breathing. But she seems to have made some progress.
The 35-year-old recently shared a full-body video from her rehab facility, and it shows that she has lost 115 pounds. She looks completely different than before, and it’s encouraging to see her progress.
Despite her weight struggles, Tammy still has a loving family that supports her. She even calls her brother Chris and sisters Amy and Amanda on Facetime while she’s in rehab.
