Taylor Fritz is a rising American tennis star who is enjoying his best season so far. The 24-year-old has been able to overcome injuries to get back into the top 10 of the ATP Tour, and is now enjoying his first Grand Slam quarter-final at Wimbledon.
He Is A Family Man
The youngest of five children, Fritz has a strong bond with his parents, and has been spotted cheering for them on the court in recent months. His mum, Kathy May, was a former professional tennis player who reached three Grand Slam quarter-finals in the 1970s.
She also won seven WTA singles titles during her career and achieved a world ranking of no. 10 in 1977.
Despite her success on the court, she remains very much a part of her family and celebrates Christmas with them every year. They are a happy and close family.
Her dad was an American businessman and founder of the May Department Stores Company, which was eventually sold to Macy’s.
The family has Jewish roots, with her great-great-grandfather David May being born in Germany. She is a proud member of the Jewish faith, and celebrates the holiday with her family.
She also grew up as a fan of Fortnite and Call of Duty Black Ops 2 among other video games, and even invested in a company that owns a Call of Duty league team, the London Ravens.
When she is not on the tennis court, she enjoys watching movies with her family, playing video games and going out for dinner. She also loves to travel.
He Is a Hardcore Competitor
Fritz has always been a hard worker, and has become known for his tenaciousness on the court. When he injured his knee at Roland Garros in 2021, for example, he came back to win two rounds at Wimbledon. This was only a month after he had had surgery.
He is a devoted sportsman and enjoys being on the court, but he is also a very social person off the court. He has a strong friendship with fellow Americans Reilly Opelka and Tommy Paul, both of whom he trained with as juniors at the US Tennis Association’s base in Boca Raton, Florida.
After winning his first ATP Tour singles title in Indian Wells in March, he said it was one of the biggest childhood dreams that he never thought could come true. He says that the experience was “one of the best things” he’s ever done in his life.
As a youngster, he was always trying to improve his game and beat his competition. He had a successful junior career, reaching the final of the US Open in 2015 and winning his first professional tournament, the Davis Cup, in 2016.
Although he has not won any major championships as a professional, he is a promising talent who deserves to be seen at the highest level of the game. He has a lot of potential, and will be looking to break into the top 10 of the ATP rankings in the future.
