Tyler Joseph Wilmes, aged 38, a resident of Bolckow, Missouri, sadly passed away on August 25, 2023. Born on July 2, 1985, in St. Joseph, MO, he was the son of Roger and Marilyn (Rosenbaum) Wilmes. In May of 2010, he exchanged vows with Tiffany Cox in Rosendale, MO, and she survives him at their home.
Tyler was known as a Journeyman Lineman at United Electric Cooperative, Inc. His roots in Bolckow, Missouri were deep, both as a current resident and as someone originally from the same town.
He had a passion for coaching softball and baseball teams, particularly for his children. Tyler had a remarkable ability to connect with people, and he treated everyone he met as a friend. Alongside his involvement in tractor pulling, he proudly held a membership with the Northwest Tractor Pulling Association. The joys of farm work, boating adventures, and quality family time were some of his most treasured pursuits.

Tyler Wilmes, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Tiffany Wilmes, his caring mother, Marilyn Wilmes, and his adored children, Maddox Wilmes and Makenna Goldizen. He is also survived by his supportive brothers, Timothy (Heather) Wilmes and Tristen (Leigh) Wilmes, his god sister, Samantha Thuringer, and his in-laws, Richard (Retha) Leader and Cindy Leader. Tyler leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Seth Leader, Zach Leader, and Jake Leader, as well as his nieces and nephews, Gracie Wilmes, Raylen Leader, Tyson Wilmes, Corbin Wilmes, and Cayden Wilmes. He is also mourned by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Tyler was preceded in death by his father, grandparents, and his brother-in-law, Chase Leader, whose memory he now joins.
A funeral service to honor Tyler’s life will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Savannah, MO. Prior to the service, a visitation and time for family receiving will take place on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah. Following the service, Tyler will be laid to rest at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Caywood, MO.
