Why is Cameron Leaving General Hospital?
Soaps have a habit of changing their cast often, and the long-running ABC soap opera General Hospital is no exception to this rule. The show has lost many great actors over the years, and some of those who have left have left fans wondering why they’re leaving.
William Lipton is delivering a powerful performance every week on the ABC soap and that’s why it’s no wonder he’s been nominated for a Daytime Emmy award in the lead actor category. The actor’s characterization of Cameron Webber on the show has been a hit since the show first introduced him.
As a soap kid, Cameron has had a fairly complicated background that’s been filled with drama and ups and downs. He’s been a victim of both the revenge porn that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) framed Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) for and the fallout from the breakup with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson).
He’s also been feeling the impact of Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst)’s hospitalization in a fugue state. She’s been unable to work or care for her kids, and Cameron hasn’t really gotten to know Finn as much as he should have.
But now that he’s finally getting to see Finn and realize that he can trust him, he’s finally starting to feel more comfortable with the idea of them getting married. And he’s starting to realize that he might need to accept Finn in order to be able to truly be there for his family.
While it’s unlikely that this is the beginning of a long-term romance, it could serve as an important stepping stone in his journey to becoming a better person. It could push him to embrace his darker side, and it may even bring into action a partnership that no one saw coming!
In addition to that, he’s been going through a tough time of his own. His parents aren’t around anymore, and his grandmother Laura Collins (Genie Francis) has been struggling with her own health issues.
That’s why it’s no wonder that he’s feeling a bit withdrawn from his loved ones. He’s definitely in need of some support, and he knows that his mom can be there for him.
However, he hasn’t been able to reach out to her as he’s been busy trying to keep his relationship with Josslyn (Eden McCoy) alive and attempting to be there for his sister, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst).
It’s clear that he needs help, but he doesn’t know who to turn to. He’s still struggling to come to terms with all the changes in his life, but he’s trying to keep himself together.
As a result, he’s been feeling down on himself. He’s letting things like the revenge porn and his mother’s health get to him and he’s definitely feeling neglected.
But now that he’s getting to see Finn and realize that he’s actually a good person, he’s feeling more positive about his future. He’s also realized that he can be the father his mother was missing, and he’s hoping that he can make up for all of the missed time with her.
So why is Cameron leaving GH. It wouldn’t be the same if they change his position with someone else. He needs to get in there and get his girlfriend back. He’s got to fight for her or tell Sonny what’s happening.
